So me and food have been having a battle royale lately. Monday-Friday I WIN. On the weekends, however, food wins and laughs its evil laugh at me while throwing M&Ms and tortilla chips all up in my business. DANG IT.
It's been 12 weeks since I started Weight Watchers. So far I've lost 19.5 pounds (last week it was 20.5 pounds but last night my mother-in-law made something called salad dressing cake. It sounds odd but I assure you, IT WAS AMAZING. And hey, it was my father-in-law's birthday so I can't be rude and NOT eat his birthday cake. And ice cream. And pasta with cream sauce and antipasto salad for dinner. Nope, don't want to OFFEND people). It seems like I go in this weird 2 week cycle: One week I lose A LOT (like 4-ish pounds), WW tells me to SLOW DOWN because losing more than a couple pounds a week is unhealthy, then I over-correct (and by "over-correct" I mean "eat chili cheese fries") the next week and then gain a pound back. Then I repeat the cycle. So far it hasn't totally foiled my weight loss goal, but it IS a little frustrating to see pounds back on the scale that you already lost. Overall, things are going well. I hope to lose another 15-ish pounds by Sydney's first birthday on August 28. I think I can make it if I would just STOP WITH THE CAKE and JUST EXERCISE ALREADY.
(Someone needs to give me a talk show. I really think I'm just as smart as Dr. Phil sometimes.)
You people have been awesome with the whole Mac vs. PC thing!! Thank you for all the advice!! The comments are still wide open so if you haven't put in your two cents yet, please do so! I'm not in any rush so long as this old hoss I'm typing on doesn't go toe-up any time soon. As a side note, I also think it's pretty funny that almost every girl who chimed in said something along the lines of "ooh, and they're so PRETTY too!!" That is such a GIRL thing to say!! Ha ha!
Also, I'm toying with the idea of getting a domain name to map to this site (don't worry, it wouldn't mess with your links or feeds). Of course things couldn't be easy and someone WITHOUT A WEBSITE has purchased insidedog.com. Since you guys are savvy, what do you think? Which domain name is the easiest to remember, classiest, most professional, most likely to become president ... you know the drill. HALP ME.
Signed,
The person who can no longer make trivial decisions without your opinion,

How about Inside THE Dog.com? Ok, just kidding. Where did you get that little workout ticker on your blog? I love it and need one...

I have the recipe for Salad Dressing cake, but have been weary of it. Brian assures me I'll love it... I still can't master Dish-Pan Cookies, but I do okay. Those ladies had some interesting recipes :))))

I would assume the Salad Dressing Cake was super moist right? Like the dressing took the place of the oil and eggs because essentially that's what mayo (aka salad dressing in some circles) is.

The wheel of cheese won last night. Sigh.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone actually make money of those ad things to the right of your blog?

Hello, curious lurker. I just tried to email you but ALAS, you entered a fake email address so REALLY I shouldn't answer your question AT ALL since you're not playing fair! Oh well, I'm a sucker.
Yes, people make money off those thingies on the side (although BlogHer is also a community of women/women's issues bloggers who KICK TOTAL ASS!). It's based on the number of hits your website gets. So, in my case? I make PENNIES. In the case of dooce.com? LOTS OF DOLLARS. Hope that helps.
