We had our 16 week checkup today and all was well. In fact, our baby was moving around so much the nurse had trouble getting an audible heartbeat over all the swooshing Little Buddy was doing in the amniotic fluid!! We had a very nice nurse today who explained everything and even laughed that our baby was so active now that we are going to be in trouble once he or she is born. After we finally heard the heartbeat she left the room and John turned to me and point blank asked "Do you think she was lying and that was actually your heartbeat?" I told him that she had no reason to lie, and that he shouldn't worry because I felt the baby MOVE for the first time while she had the Doppler on my tummy! That helped him tremendously. It was such a relief to feel that little flutter everyone's telling me I should be feeling around this time! I never for a second wondered if she had it wrong but I did wonder for a minute if something was wrong because she couldn't find the heartbeat right away. Once she explained what the sounds meant I was fine. I guess it's harder for him because he's worried about me and he's not experiencing all this in the same way I am (physically I just feel pregnant and have all the symptoms).
Going to the doctor is so freaking stressful! I wonder if there will ever be a day when we will be able to put the past behind us.
A more complete update over here.
Hope you all are well. Belated congrats to Kathy on her big, awesome fat positive!!
It is nice to see that you still blog over here too. I am glad that little Buddy is growing, moving, and doing well.
(Rian is pregnant too.)
